Speaking & Advocacy

Public speaking, MC’ing and Interviews

Engaging, open and real, Richie is a sought-after public speaker across topics ranging from drug and alcohol abuse, sexual consent and mental health.

His experiences working with professional and amateur fighters, and in social and community advocacy, has given Richie a real insight into the issues facing the New Zealanders who generally are hardest to reach – young people, people who struggle with homelessness, the justice system, violence and anger issues, mental health issues and drug and alcohol dependency. Bringing his special mix of raw honesty and personal credibility, he connects with audiences from wealthy charity groups to prison inmates.

Richie is available as an experienced MC, radio host and interviewee.

His appearances include:

  • Newstalk ZB – Nutters Club (regular guest host)
  • Former 95Bfm host
  • The AM Show
  • TVNZ Breakfast

“Richie came and spoke to around 100 of our staff who work for Downer on a water maintenance and construction contract. The audience consisted of field workers, engineers, dispatchers, senior executives and senior members of our client (Watercare). The audience was predominantly male (90%) with a range of ages (19-67).  Despite the time limitation of 20 minutes I had to place on the event, Richie provided an engaging, thought provoking and energizing presentation. During and after the presentation right across the audience spectrum there was increased conversation.

Feedback from attendees included comments such as, ‘he’s really relatable because of his tattoos, but at the same time you see that he’s serious and deep’, ‘his talk was good – he talked about things we all know happen but never want to talk about’, ‘you know I go through so much of what he spoke about but I never know what to do, now I feel I can do something to make a change’.

Since the event we have noticed a change in conversations and a general increased awareness of the issues discussed. It also generated the momentum to develop a wellness programme which incorporates all the areas that Richie discussed.

We highly recommend Richie!”

“Richie’s presentations were very valuable and his honest, open, informative manner in which he delivered the message of “How healthy is this relationship?” was very powerful and well received.  He connected well with students, teachers and stakeholders.    He has a great sense of humour which adds to the effective manner in which he delivers his message. I would highly recommend Richie Hardcore as a presenter on the abovementioned topics.  Richie has a wealth of valuable knowledge and information in this area of health.”
